We have started our Emergency Services Program as a mobile clinic to be able to meet clients in their service area and are working towards opening a physical Drop-in Center in the city of San Diego. The mobile clinic will house basic emergency food, clothing, toiletries and pamphlets used to seek services.
The goal of the program is to meet clients where they are by supporting them with resources and services, to help minimize barriers that would prevent them from leaving their trafficker or seeking the help they need. Finding permanent housing for them is one of the key barriers we are seeking to remove. Unfortunately, this is usually a lengthy process, especially because those we serve are dealing with both homelessness and the effects of trauma on their mental health. Creating a safe space where they can go for support is the goal. Once a client demonstrates they are ready for housing support, they will then be transitioned to our long-term services in St. Bakhita’s Program and enrolled in intensive case management. We will also be offering clients the opportunity to utilize our faith-based counseling services and other financial assistance as they have need. NEW Mobile Drop-In Center: (619) 944-9281
