Leslie Harnish

Leslie Harnish retired from the Department of State as a Program Analyst in the Consular Affairs Bureau in 2020. Leslie worked for the Department of State in Washington and abroad in various capacities for over 20 years. She worked side by side with her Foreign Service husband, Reno Harnish, representing the US Government in 9 countries. While living and working abroad she also worked for Save the Children in Pristina, Kosovo and World Vision in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was in this capacity that she became acquainted with the horror of international sex trafficking. It was her desire in retirement to get involved in local sex trafficking.
She is the recipient of the Secretary of State’s Award for Volunteerism, and speaks 2 foreign languages, German and Italian. She holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Maryland. She is an Associate in the Knights of Malta and a Volunteer at Immaculata Church , Father Joe’s and our Lady of Guadalupe. Leslie’s Motto is “do a bit of good every day with the grace of God ”.
